Snapshot: Electronic Orange Pig Hoof (Mk II)
13 Jan 2018

I happened across this Electronic Orange Pig Hoof a while back... and I haven't looked back since!
Â
This is the Mk II version, and its in the initial aluminium enclosure, made by Jan HoÅ™Ãnek in the Czech Republic.
Â
Electronic Orange has a reputation for top quality gear, and the Pig Hoof is true to form. In concept, the Pig Hoof is a 70's Ram's Head clone and so its gravitates to the Gilmour sound (see the MkI).Â
Â
However, the yellow-label MkII evolved out of a request from Gilmourish.com to cut low end end and roll back the gain. There's an internal trim pot for adjusting gain and resistance, leaving the options open for experimentation to suit your setup.Â
Â
GIlmourish compares the MkII (favourably) to the Cornish P1, so head over there to read reviews of both the MkII ( link ) and the original, red label MkI ( link ).Â
Â
Personally, I love the way this thing is put together. It oozes quality. Even better, it plays well with other pedal board residents, and subtle setup changes here and there suit experimentation. Have fun!
